Town of Cangas del Narcea
Located at the confluence of the rivers Narcea and Luiña, the town of Cangas del Narcea, capital of the council of the same name, is the neuralgic point of a large region in the southwest of Asturias.
Festivities of Carmen and Magdalena. La Descarga. From the 14th to the 22nd. Festivities of Regional Tourist Interest, where the peñas and the gunpowder are the main protagonists, with great pyrotechnic shows. The main event takes place on the afternoon of the 16th with LA DESCARGA, when in honor of the Virgen del Carmen thousands of voladores are fired in unison into the sky of the town.
Grape Harvest Festival. Grape Harvest Festival. Declared a Festival of Tourist Interest of the Principality of Asturias. The central streets of the town are filled with craft stalls, traditional products and above all, the wineries of Quality Wine of Cangas. The staging of the transport of grapes in a country cart and the traditional "grape treading" are some of its main events. It is celebrated around the Pilar Bridge.
